Drag Race’s The Vivienne slams X Factor for appearing to pay all performers except the drag queens

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK winner The Vivienne has slammed the X Factor for not offering to pay her for a performance until she called them out on it. The Vivienne alleged that she and Baga Chipz were asked to perform on X Factor: Celebrity on Saturday for free, while all the other performers were paid. “Was so honoured to be asked to perform on @TheXFactor this evening. Category Is: The Crown Season One on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K.’ [RECAP and RANKINGS]

OK! That was satisfying! In a way, RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K.‘s greatest strength is also its weakness. The pleasantly short season breezed through with nary a historic gag nor an iconic dramatic blowup. Like the episodes preceding it, last night’s finale was neither over- nor underwhelming. It was perfectly whelming. It was the proper top three, the appropriate winner and a fitting final performance that did more to celebrate than challenge the contestants. The noticeable lack of spectacle didn’t make things any more memorable. I know it’s only season one,...

Mutha (and Sistas) Have Arrived on RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K. [RECAP AND RANKINGS]

Although this isn’t the top four I envisioned at the start of RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K.‘s inaugural season, I find myself charmed by our remaining queens. Cheryl is the closest we’ve had to a “villain” and reaches the top four without any badges, but I’m enjoying her energy still. The final four’s likability elevated the season’s makeover challenge, which featured important women in the queens’ lives. What the penultimate episode lacked in big, gaggy moments, it made up for with breezy, heartwarming fun. But first, a bit of unresolved business....
