Michelle Obama was glowing with praise for Beyoncé’s Netflix film today (20 April).
Queen B’s concert film charts the days before her 2018 Coachella gig. Like the concert itself, it’s received raving reviews all round.
And the biggest fan of all seems to be former First Lady of the United States.
What did she say?
In a video posted on Twitter, Michelle Obama said: ‘Hey queen!
‘Girl, you have done it again. Constantly raising the bar for us all, and doing flawlessly.
‘I’d say I’m surprised, but I know who you are. I’ve seen it up close and personal.
‘Girl, you make me so proud, and I love you.’
‘A celebration and a call to action’
She then praised Bey for the diversity the film promotes, and said: ‘I also love that your new Netflix film, Homecoming, is informed by the black leaders, thinkers and poets who’ve paved the way for folks like us.

‘I love that it’s both a celebration and a call to action. And I love that you’re using this film to inspire the next generation of history makers and record breaker who’ll run the world in the years ahead.
‘So to you, my dear friend, I just want to say: Keep telling the truth. Because you can do it in a way that no one else can.’
‘Two queens, ma’am’
Michelle Obama’s followers and the Bey Hive went into overdrive at the tweet, with hundreds reacting.
One user pointed out: ‘*two queens, ma’am.’
‘I love this woman, both of them in fact they are such true inspirational figures for EVERYONE to sit up and take notice,’ another said.
A user added: ‘How can anyone watch this and not tear up, I don’t know.’
