Columbus SOUP To Highlight LGBTQ+ Initiatives On April 14
BY KAYLEE DUFF
Columbus SOUP — a local philanthropy organization dedicated to creating an innovative space for crowdfunding — is focusing on raising money for LGBTQ+ projects at their upcoming event.
Columbus SOUP was founded in 2013 to help connect community members, volunteers and local projects, while raising awareness and money to award small grants over a meal. A grassroots, volunteer-driven organization, Columbus SOUP’s vision is “Funding projects that make Columbus a better place — together.” So far, they have been able to award over $40,000 to projects making a difference in Columbus for Columbus.
For the first time, the organization will be presenting LGBTQ+ specific initiatives at their 21st event on April 14th. Columbus is one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly cities in this nation, and Columbus SOUP is “excited to celebrate this wonderful and diverse community.” They asked for projects that aim to advance visibility, inclusivity, support and more for our LGBTQ+ community.
