Why Madonna Recommends Doing Facial Masks On Your Butt

Are you behind on your beauty regimen?

Chatting about her skincare line, MDNA Skin, with The Cut, Madonna has confirmed that she puts her skin-softening $600 Chrome Clay Mask on her famous derrière.

“Just for fun, I tried it as an experiment,” she explains. “I work out a lot and if you do mat work, you’re always sitting so you can get dry patches.”

“You just have to be willing to lay on your stomach and not move, while naked,” the 59-year-old singer continues. She adds that her facialist, Tarin Skillets, removes the pore-clearing mask using a special magnetic wand, quipping, “such a fun job she has.”

“It’s kind of a no-brainer,” Madonna says of butt masks in general. “You can take any face mask and try it on your behind. Skin is skin. I think people would want the skin on their butt to be smooth, glowing, and hydrated. I mean, I know I do. There are certain special people that get to see our butt and you want it to look its finest.”

Madonna first mentioned her rear beauty routine last year, although some regarded the comments as a joke. “Don’t you want soft skin on your butt?” she asked a group of beauty editors. “Don’t other people look at your butt? Your butt has an audience! I encourage it. Maybe you can ask your significant other to remove it for you.”

The skincare maven memorably used her magnetic clay mask on Skillets last year in an instructional video. She also released an MDNA skincare commercial starring RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Milk.

Madonna, who relocated to Lisbon to focus on upcoming projects, is directing her adaptation of The Impossible Lives of Greta Wells, Andrew Sean Greer’s 2013 novel about a time-traveling woman and her gay twin brother.
